“Perfume is like love,
You can never get enough of it”.
Estee Lauder
I have a problem – I don’t know what I want. I thought I did, but it’s not that easy for me lately.
I want a new perfume. I want a perfume that is not too floral, but kind of fresh and grapefruity, with a woody note, with a touch of sexy musk, with fruity undertones that are not particularly recognizable, with base notes of bergamot and sandalwood; and I’d like to be able to wear it all year round. Is this too much to ask for?
I can’t say that I’m in a desperate need of a new fragrance, the collection that I own is pretty expansive. I just long for a nice update every once in a while, and it has to be the one that I can’t live without. Being a junkie somewhat helps, because at least I know what I don’t want (anything available at the perfume counters at the moment).
I tried hundreds of fragrances lately, even going through some oldies like Guerlain Shalimar, Lancome Magie Noir or Paloma Picasso – nothing there for me. I want to be shocked, amazed and surprised by how wonderful my new perfume smells. I want to be addicted to it, love it and wear it through all of the four seasons. I want to be recognized for it.
So far – no results, but I don’t give up easily, I’ll keep looking and sniffing. And I’ll most definitely keep you all posted, so wish me luck.
P.S. If anybody has a suggestion on a fragrance for me to try, please let me know, I appreciate any input.
