DDF Restoring Night Serum ($95)
So many serums, so little time. And how do you even navigate in a sea of these anti-aging fluids that every beauty company seems to have an endless amount of? You pick one you can afford with the ingredients you can pronounce, try it, and then you either stick to it until it’s discontinued or move quickly to a different one. In case you favor more than one, you can always rotate them according to your skin needs and your own moods. Here’s another serum for your consideration – DDF Restoring Night.
This product is supposed to give you a much needed “restorative hydration to allow the natural cross-linking of elastin and help repair the look of wrinkles by up to 30%”. And if that doesn’t seem enough, the company promises that their serum helps to “repair the skin’s surface structure for a smoother, more resilient, younger-looking complexion”.
The ingredients list is long and nice, but one of them catches the eye right away – turmeric, which is known for its ability to slow down the aging process, decrease formation of wrinkles, and fight an unpleasant conditions like eczema, acne and dry skin. So far so good, but let’s see what it did for my skin.
I used it every night as directed, and noticed that the high level of the serum’s active ingredients work faster than some other products that I’ve tried before. Night Serum is moisturizing enough to skip a face cream, and at the same time it makes the skin look nourished and smooth, bright and soft by the time the sun is up. It is non-irritating, lightweight, oil-free and fast-absorbing. The much-hated wrinkles don’t go away completely, but appear softer and less prominent.
There’s this only thing that I wasn’t able to get over while using the serum – it smells like an asphalt to me. It’s really just a high concentration of turmeric that effects the smell of the product. Although it fades away rather quickly, I still can’t force myself to make peace with it. The smell is not as bad as to affect the overall quality of the serum, I actually recommend trying it if you’ve got an extra $95 to spend.
