Givenchy ‘Fleur de Frangipanier’ compact powder ($45)
I fell in love with the looks first. I admit it, I’m a sucker for beautiful packaging. The pretty, flowery compact looks like a piece of art and comes in 2 colors: Island Sun and Island Tan (my preference). It’s actually a face powder, but sometimes I use it as a bronzer, and it blends nicely with my medium complexion.
The powder’s special “shade-blending technique” mixes all 3 shades in the same proportions, so you don’t end up with random funny colored areas on your face. The texture of the powder is very fine, and the glow you get from it is believable and natural, as it doesn’t contain any shimmery particles .
I usually apply it with a big powder brush and either blend it all over my face, or just use it for highlighting. When highlighting, I draw a number 3 on my face, starting at my forehead, then swiping it on my cheeks and chin, and a little on my nose. I apply this powder right after foundation as a substitute for my basic face powder. Just don’t expect it to cover any imperfections, it’s not supposed to give you full coverage. It evens out your complexion and gives a subtle glow and dewiness to face and decolletage, like the ones you get from candle light.
