I just learned about this study, and decided to write a quick warning for those who hasn’t heard about it yet. The report, made by Reuters, stated that FDA found that about 400 lipsticks, available on the market at the moment, tested positive for lead. The worst offender happens to be L’Oreal’s Maybelline Color Sensation that packs in more than 275 times of lead parts than the least contaminated product. The lipsticks with the most amount of lead, measured in parts per million:

- L’Oreal Colour Riche in Volcanic (7.0 ppm)
- NARS Semi-Matte in Red Lizard (4.93 ppm)
- Cover Girl Queen Collection in Ruby Remix (4.92 ppm)
- Nars Semi-Matte in Funny Face (4.89 ppm)
- L’Oreal Colour Riche in Tickled Pink (4.45 ppm)
- L’Oreal Intensely Moisturizing Lipcolor in Heroic (4.41 ppm)
- Cover Girl Continuous Color in Warm Brick (4.28 ppm)
- Maybelline Color Sensational in Mauve Me (4.23 ppm)
- Stargazer Lipstick in #103 (4.12 ppm)
