La Mer ‘The Eye Balm Intense’ ($145)
This is the latest beauty potion that comes straight from the ‘Miracle Broth’ land – La Mer ‘The Eye Balm Intense’, and it sure caught my attention. Although being in love with the brand, I don’t usually run to their counter with the credit card on ready once I hear about a new product release. There’s a little more to the process: I get samples first, and then wait patiently if I get any results. So after I used up my samples of the Eye Balm Intense, you can only imagine how happy I was when I got a couple of my favorite green La Mer boxes as a birthday gift from my family, and one of them was a coveted eye cream. Twice a day application is not a chore for me, it’s a lifestyle I love.
“The new Marine De-Puff Ferment™, The Lifting Ferment™ and a potent concentration of the Miracle Broth™ penetrate deep within the skin’s surface for a remarkable change, while the unique balm texture offers the utmost in comfort. The look of puffiness, lines and wrinkles is diminished as clarity is revealed.” True?
I can definitely sign my name under almost all of these claims – the balm has light and luxurious texture, it improves undereye skin tone, makes you look fresh and more awake. I don’t have puffiness issue and can’t say whether the eye balm works to reduce it or not. But this is a very light, silky, non-irritating, fast-absorbing, non-greasy moisturizer, that leaves no residue and is great under concealer. I use it twice a day, and noticed how it relaxes little lines around my eyes.
My favorite silver-tipped applicator that comes with the balm, gives a cooling sensation to the skin and helps stimulate micro-circulation. It’s one of the best applicator inventions I’ve ever tried. It spreads the balm easily and glides against the skin effortlessly.
I understand that no balm is going to erase wrinkles completely, but the fact that it makes them less obvious makes me very happy. The balm doesn’t come cheap, as all of La Mer’s products, but I can’t deny the fact that this company stays true to its claims.
