Lancome Mix and Matte Color Design Collection – Color Design lipsticks and eye shadows with matte finishes. The collection is available exclusively at Macy’s and Lancome official site. It consists of 8 lip colors ($22 each) and 6 eye shadow colors ($17 each).
Lancome Color Design Matte Lipstick comes in a luxurious black tube with the highly pigmented wearable colors (my favorite is Stylista). Soft silicones were added to the formula to achieve a creamy, non-drying texture.
The lipstick glides on easily, producing a rich velvety pigment that stays on the lips for a few hours. But when it does eventually fade with wearing, it leaves my lips with a nice natural-looking rosy stain. It doesn’t have that chalky feel to it, as I experienced with some other matte lip products. The colors don’t bleed, so there’s no need to apply it with a brush all the time, it works as well if you put it on straight from the tube. What can I say, I am really impressed with this new matte lip collection. I was more into shimmery or pearlescent kinds of lipsticks before, but this spring I’ll add a few beautiful matte colors to my makeup bag.
Lancome Color Design Matte Eye Shadows come in 3 dark and 3 light shades to play around with. Dark colors are very deep and rich, they look perfect as eyeliners. Light shadows, on the other hand, seemed dull and pasty on me, didn’t create much of a definition I like. I’ve never been a big fan of matte eye shadows, I prefer to have a touch of shimmer on my lids. Although the light shadow colors are very versatile and flattering, the matte texture didn’t really work for me.
