Last week I reviewed Lara Beauty’s cleansing system for sensitive skin ( Lara Beauty: solution for sensitive skin problems), which turned out very handy, according to your responses. Looks like many of you, even though not necessarily having sensitive skin, experience some sort of skin sensitivity or dryness in winter and early spring months. In this case you may also be interested in the company’s Polishing Microderm Abrasion cream ($24) to slough off dead skin cells without any unpleasant consequences.
What is it: it’s a granulated polishing face paste that is a bit rougher in texture than your usual exfoliator.
What it does: clears pores and blackheads, prevents acne, evens out skin tone and helps smooth fine lines with time.
Key ingredients: allantoin (stimulates collagen production, fights skin aging), hemp seed oil (smooths and softens skin), shea butter (moisturizes and conditions).
This face polish works best if used 2-3 times a week, after taking your makeup off completely. Although you have to be careful not to over-scrub your face, the paste is gentle enough not to tear up the skin. The granules are tiny, so you get a really good cleansing at the pore level, which was one of the main selling points for me. In my experience, it provided more buffing than scratching, which is important when you have either sensitive or very dry skin.
This stuff is seriously good and effective: even with just one use I saw a big difference in my skin’s texture – it became smooth like a skating rink. My hand glides over my face without feeling any little bumps now, and my skin tone noticeably improved. I always get this nice, fresh and squeaky clean feeling each time I use it, and there’s no dryness at the same time.
If you are looking for something very mild, gentle but effective, this is the product to try. It’s also very economical – you need only a tiny bit to smother over your face, so the jar will last for a long time.
