L’Oreal Infallible 8 HR Le Gloss ($9.99)
L’Oreal’s expansive glosses collection grew even bigger lately, as the company added Infallible 8HR Le Gloss to it. Now I’m wondering what’s going to happen to all their other glosses, those that claim only 4 and 6 hours of staying power. Never mind, back to the new one. I bought it out of curiosity, was itching to know how long it really stays put. The answer couldn’t be further from the company’s 8 hour promise. On my lips, without eating or drinking, this gloss stays about 3 hours. If I get thirsty or hungry, it goes down together with food or drink in a second. And it doesn’t leave any stain on the lips, which can be a good thing, depending on the preference. The not-so-good part is that it always leaves a nasty-looking, embarrassing sticky mess on drinking glasses.
The application part is actually not that bad. It goes on the lips somewhat evenly and easily, so no complaints there. The oval-shaped applicator feels strange at the beginning, but is not impossible to navigate. A weird thing starts to happen just a few minutes after application – the gloss gradually thickens on the lips, and gets heavy and sticky. That’s the part that usually bothers me more than the staying power. I don’t mind reapplications, but I hate the gooey feeling on my lips. On the upside, the colors are nice, and there’s not too much shimmer in the pigment, which makes it appropriate for grown-ups. Won’t buy it again though.

Personally, I beleive that the Mac lipgloss products are to sticky. L’oreal goes on easy and it looks lovely. L’oreal is much less expensive then Mac products and the lipgolss is a better product. Also, it is easier and quicker to go shopping for L’oreal then Mac lip gloss. And, can really get the same look as a famous person in a picture. Basically all photos of famous people are edited to look better in one way or another.
