‘No makeup’ or nude makeup look was all over the runways during fashion week this season. It was seen at BCBG, Gucci, Chloe, Burberry, Balmain and Elie Tahari, to name a few. To get it right you need to focus on perfecting the skin and using the colors that are close to your natural skin tone. It may take more time than your usual makeup application, but it’s sure worth the effort.
1. Moisturize as usual, it’s important for the skin to appear soft and touchable.
2. Apply foundation and blend it really well, until it sinks into skin completely.
3. Use concealer under the eyes, around the nose and anywhere you need to hide imperfections. Take time to blend.
4. Apply powder all over the face and neck to make sure they are of the same color. You can also brush some over the eyelids instead of an eye shadow.
5. Swipe once with a powder bronzer on the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheek bones and chin.
6. You can skip the blush and leave your skin with a bronzer glow. But if you want to use it, choose the shade close to your natural flush color and dust a little bit on the apples of the cheeks.
7. Apply one coat of your favorite mascara for the natural effect, or use 2 coats to vamp it up a notch.
8. You can leave your lids either bare or swipe a bit of a taupe/beige eye shadow onto them. Use the shadow brush for blending.
9. Go for a tinted pink or peach lip balm or a sheer gloss as a finishing touch.
This day-time makeup is a good canvas for creating a bold lip look for a night out. Just add lipstick in any bright or dark color you prefer (red or fuchsia, for example), and you are done with an evening makeup.
