7 steps to conceal a tired look

woman applying makeup

Now that we are all starting the official party season, it feels logical to share a few tips on how to look fresh the morning after. Among all the things that work for me, number one is to squeeze as many hours of sleep as possible, which is not always realistic. So, here is the list of other solutions:

1. If you have 5 minutes for a little zen time in the morning, you can spend them with the cold tea bags on your eyes. That helps wake you up and lighten under eye circles.

2. I also find it helpful to get an ice cube from the freezer and massage it a little bit all over my face and neck. That instantly brings color to the whole face.

3. After the usual moisturizer and eye cream routine make sure not to forget to apply concealer under the eyes, but start in the inner corners first. It’s important to be very precise with the application in this area, because it helps open up the eyes and makes it seem as if you did not miss on your sleep.

4. If you use eye shadow, then try luminous (shimmery) beige, white or taupe colors on your upper lids, and don’t forget to smear some in the corners of the eyes for a fresher look.

5. Use a light hand with the rest of the eye makeup, no dark shadows or lower lid lining. Just a coat or two of mascara to finish the look.

6. I would also suggest using a cream blush on the cheeks for a subtle glow instead of the powder that may make you look more tired.

7. Gloss your pout. Try to avoid matte or a drying long-lasting lipstick, and nobody will be able to tell that you spent the previous night partying.
