Party makeup idea: standout eyes

It’s no secret that matte or shimmery, black eyeliner creates the most dramatic effect for evening makeup. You can concoct your whole look around it, including hair style and an outfit. The possibilities are endless. Black liner works for everybody, it’s versatile and sophisticated, and perfect for any occasion. I chose 2 ways to wear it for your consideration: the heavier eyes-to-kill version and the softer, toned down one.

Dianna Agron

Dianna Agron’s daring eye makeup can be recreated with just a few products: black pencil eyeliner, black eye shadow, and mascara. Use a pencil to trace both upper and lower lash lines. Extend both lines at the outer corners of the eyes, connecting them at the end. Layer black shadow on top of the liner on the upper lids, then blend it outward for a better definition. Finish with a few coats of black mascara. Add light touches of nude lipstick and light pink blush, and you are ready to party.

Mila Kunis

If you are going for Mila Kunis’ look, you can wear a little more color on cheeks and lips. But it has to be subtle and matte, so that it won’t compete with sparkly eyes. She has a shimmery beige eye shadow as a base on her upper lids, and a black liner on top of it. The liner is extended a little past the outer corners of the eyes for a soft cat eye. Couple of coats of black mascara finishes the look. Simple and very pretty.
