Hand cream is one of those must have products that has to satisfy my needs exactly, according to my current skin condition. It has to be light, fast-absorbing, deeply moisturizing and non-greasy. And some SPF in the formula is a huge bonus. Below are 3 hand creams that I usually have in rotation.
Clinique Stop Signs Hand Repair ($18.50)
I don’t even remember for how long I’ve been using this cream, my memory goes a number of years back. It has light and non-greasy texture, absorbs immediately into skin, so I can touch things without worrying about leaving grease marks everywhere. It relieves an unpleasant dry feeling and itchiness with the first application. And my hands look smoother immediately after I put it on. It doesn’t contain SPF, so if I use the cream before I go outside, the sunscreen that I put on my face, goes on my hands too.
Clarins Age Control Hand Lotion ($30)
This hand moisturizer has SPF15, which makes it perfect for wearing outside on a sunny day. The formula is a little lighter than of Clinique’s, so it absorbs into skin even faster. It makes hands smooth and soft, but may not be moisturizing enough for rough, cracked dry hands, or may not work in winter when more hydration is needed. The lotion has a rather strong smell that I happen to like, although some people may find it a bit too strong.
La Mer The Hand Treatment ($70)
Luxurious. Soothing. Healing. Expensive. But so good. It includes skin lightening complex that improves skin tone on your hands. Glides on effortlessly, absorbs right away and provides immediate relief for dry hands. I use it as an overnight treatment to allow more time for my hands to heal. The best part is waking up in the morning with soft, smooth, nice looking hands.
